Two of Peace Corps' three goals relate to sharing culture between Volunteers and their host country friends, colleagues, acquaintances, etc.
Today I did my part by eating KFC (or simply 'Kentucky', as it's commonly known in Namibia) for lunch with colleagues and telling them about my summer 2011 visit to the original Colonel Sanders Cafe in Corbin, Kentucky.
(On a related note, I was recently looking at a map of the U.S. with a friend of mine. She was very surprised to see that America likes KFC so much we named a state after it.)
Thanks, Colonel.
